Shrines will be fully opened in eight cities, Asad Omar

NCOC chief Asad Omar said shrines would be fully opened in eight cities.

 

The meeting was chaired by NCOC chief Asad Omar. Addressing a joint press conference with the Special Assistant for Health after the meeting, Asad Omar said it had been decided to ease restrictions in eight cities. Sanctions are being relaxed in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Quetta and Peshawar. Restrictions will also be relaxed in Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit and Skardu. The restrictions that have been in place since October 1 will be for non-vaccinators.

 

Asad Omar said 300 people would be allowed to attend indoor gatherings and 1,000 in outdoor gatherings in eight cities from October 1. The shrines are being fully opened. Weddings will be allowed all week in 8 cities. Restrictions will be imposed in areas with less than 40% vaccination. From October 1, food will be provided to passengers on flights. Restrictions in Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad will remain in place until October 15. Sanctions will also remain in force in Gujranwala, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Bahalpur till October 15.

 

Dr Faisal Sultan said that children under the age of 12 would also be vaccinated. The vaccination campaign is going well but the support of the citizens is needed. Pregnant women can also get the corona vaccine.
