Accidents due to heavy rain and wind in different areas of Karachi, 4 killed

KARACHI : Due to dusty winds and rain in Karachi, the electric system was shut down. Four people were killed in different accidents. Power supply was disrupted due to collapse of a pool in Orangi Town. According to K Electric, power supply from at least 300 feeders has been affected.

It is not possible for Karachi to be without rain and without electricity. The strong wind also blew away the electric system in the city. Power outages in various areas after storms and rains.

Power was also cut off in PIB, Sohrab Goth, Safora, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, PECH Society, Saddar, II Chandragar Road, Shah Faisal, New Karachi, Surjani, FB Area, Nazimabad.

K Electric officials explained that precautionary measures

As the feeders are closed, the feeders will be gradually reopened once the situation returns to normal. K Electric’s field teams are present in the affected areas to restore power.

On the other hand, four people, including a woman and a child, were killed in a wall collapse and other accidents due to strong winds and heavy rains. The accidents took place in Baldia Town, Saeedabad, Sher Shah and Orangi Town.

Two persons were injured when signboards fell on II Chandragar Road and Rashid Minhas Road. Scheme 33 was blown up in Gulzar Hijri due to strong winds but no casualties wer e reported.
