Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has congratulated the nation on the withdrawal of US troops.
Talking on the runway of Kabul Airport, he said that this is a victory for all of us, it is a great lesson for those who invaded our country and our future generations. Afghanistan is now a free and independent country. The spokesman said: “This is a historic moment. The United States has not been able to achieve its goals through military operations.”
He said Afghanistan would maintain diplomatic relations with Western countries. The spokesman vowed that the Afghan people would defend their independence, sovereignty and Islamic values.
