Announcing the Civil Award for Darren Sammy

KARACHI : A civil award has also been announced for West Indies cricketer Darren Sammy for his services to Pakistan.

Darren Sammy has been nominated for Star of Pakistan.

After being nominated for the Civil Award, Peshawar Chairman Zalmai Javed Afridi congratulated him in a tweet.

It may be recalled that President Dr. Arif Alvi on the occasion of Independence Day on August 14, 2021 has traditionally approved to give Pakistan Civil Awards to Pakistanis as well as foreign nationals who have shown outstanding performance and courage in their respective fields.

These 126 awards will be given on the occasion of Pakistan Day on March 23, 2022. These include Nishan Imtiaz, Hilal Pakistan, Hilal Imtiaz, Sitara Pakistan, Sitara Shujaat, Sitara Imtiaz, Presidential Award for Excellence, Sitara Quaid-e-Azam, Tamgha Shujaat, Tamgha Imtiaz and Tamgha Quaid-e-Azam.
