Taking steps to make clear tax collection system : President

President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi has said that steps are being taken to make the tax collection system in the country transparent.


Addressing the tax awareness seminar, President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi said that a large number of people are not yet aware that complaints against injustice in the tax system can be lodged with the Federal Tax Ombudsman. The FBR and other tax collecting agencies should report any legitimate grievances to the Federal Tax Ombudsman so that justice can be served to them expeditiously. The President said that the system of Federal Tax Ombudsman is being digitized so that the business community To get justice soon


On the occasion, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail said that traders are the assets of the country and we should take care of them and establish a transparency by eliminating corruption from the tax collection system.


Addressing the seminar, Federal Tax Ombudsman Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera said that if the tax system is not transparent, tax collection will not improve and corruption and mismanagement will increase in the country. He said that traders should approach the federal tax ombudsman and they will get justice. He said that the first priority of the present government is to encourage the taxpayers and people can be confident that the tax collection system is healing from them.

Earlier, a report on the performance of the Federal Tax Ombudsman’s Department was also presented at the seminar.
