China offered to help the Taliban build and develop Afghanistan

China has offered conditional support to the Taliban for peace and reconstruction in Afghanistan, saying it would welcome a government that represents all sections.

According to the China News Service, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has said that if the Taliban forms a partnership government and distances itself from terrorist groups, then it will fully support the construction and development of Afghanistan.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin reiterated his call for the Taliban to sever ties with terrorist groups and said he would welcome a government that represents all sections.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman added that China hopes that all parties in Afghanistan will respect the aspirations of the Afghan people and the expectations of the international community and formulate moderate policies acceptable to all.

Regarding the recognition of the Taliban government, the Chinese spokesman added that the decision would be made only after the announcement of the government and it also depends on the characteristics of the government.

Meanwhile, Sher Abbas Stakzai, head of the Taliban’s negotiating delegation in Qatar, said that a government would be announced in the next three days in which women would also be represented.

He further added that the recent riots at Kabul airport were due to mismanagement by the Americans and that 30 million would be needed to rehabilitate the airport.

It is believed that the United States had completed the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan on the night of August 30 before the August 31 deadline and had defused aircraft, helicopters and other equipment at Kabul Airport on the way out so that the Taliban could not use them.

It has now been reported that a team of experts has arrived at Kabul Airport from Qatar to assist in the full resumption of air operations at Kabul Airport.
