Russia is not interested in dividing Afghanistan: Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he hoped the Taliban would be more civilized in Afghanistan so that the international community could establish diplomatic relations with them.

According to the French news agency, addressing a ceremony, the Russian president said that Russia is not interested in the partition of Afghanistan and if that happens, there will be no one to talk to. He expressed the hope that the Taliban would soon be among the civilized, making it easier to communicate, talk and question them.

He added that the withdrawal of the United States and its allies from Afghanistan at the end of last month had led to catastrophe and that they had spent ڈی 1.5 trillion on the campaign and the result was nothing.

It is to be noted that Russia has so far been cautious in its relations with the Taliban and the Russian ambassador in Kabul has met with Taliban representatives and said that Russia will keep its embassy open in Afghanistan.

In recent days, Russia has begun expelling its citizens from the former Soviet Union and other countries in view of the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan.

Russia has warned that extremist groups fleeing Afghanistan to neighboring countries in the form of refugees could benefit from political turmoil there.

It should be noted that Afghanistan’s borders are with the three former Soviet Union countries Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, where Russia also has military bases.
