6-month extension of Security Council mission in Afghanistan

The UN Security Council’s mission in Afghanistan has been extended by six months.


The Security Council passed a resolution unanimously approving the extension of the UN Security Council’s mission.


Members of the UN Security Council also pledged 1 billion in aid to Afghanistan.


The Security Council also agreed to continue its role in promoting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
