Asad Qaiser took a big step forward in advancing the electoral reform agenda

ISLAMABAD : Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser formed a five-member parliamentary committee to push forward the electoral reform agenda and seek consensus from the opposition,

including federal ministers Pervez Khattak, Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, Asad Umar and parliamentary affairs. Relevant Adviser Babar Awan and Special Assistant Malik Amir Dogar.

Speaker Asad Qaiser set up the committee in the context of a letter written by Prime Minister Imran Khan on the formation of a parliamentary committee for electoral reform.

He said that electoral reforms were necessary to gain public confidence in the electoral process. ۔ He also said that completing the electoral reform process before the next elections would ensure transparency.
