BADA DAM TO HELP RESOLVING THE WATER SCARCITY PROBLEM AND PROVISION OF WATER FOR AGRICULTURE: NA SPEAKER

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said that constructing small dams is inevitable to tackle water scarcity and energy issues in the country. He said that small dams are imperative for increasing level of underground water. He said that the major segment of the population is linked with Agriculture Sector and small dams would enhance water availability for Agriculture purposes also. He expressed these views in a meeting held in Parliament House today to review the progress of construction of Bada Dam in district Swabi KPK .

Speaker Asad Qaiser recommended utilizing public money keeping in view the best exchange value. He also stressed on the need to protect the interest of the local areas. He also assured to fully support the KPK government for construction of small dams. The Senior Officers of KPK Irrigation department briefed the Speaker in detail about details of the project. It was apprised that the Dam would be completed by the end of the current year. The Speaker emphasized for timely and efficient completion of the project in the best interest of common people.
