Career diplomat Vítězslav Grepl will Head to Tehran as the New Czech Ambassador

Career diplomat Vítězslav Grepl will head to Tehran as the new Czech ambassador. He should leave for the country in the first quarter of 2025.

“I wish Vítězslav Grepl success in this challenging destination,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský.

Vítězslav Grepl has been working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1991. In the years 1998-2000, he managed the Department of Asian and Pacific States, after which he was ambassador to Malaysia for four years. In the years 2004 – 2009, he represented Czech diplomacy as ambassador to China.

Between 2009-2012, he was the senior director of the non-European countries and development cooperation section. In the years 2012-2017, he was the Czech ambassador to Thailand and subsequently from 2017 to 2022 in Vietnam.

Vítězslav Grepl already has approval from the receiving country, the so-called agrément.
