Chairman NAB noticed on Alleged corruption of billions of rupees in Rawalpindi Ring Road project

ISLAMABAD : Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), has taken notice of the alleged corruption of billions of rupees in the Rawalpindi Ring Road project.

 

A statement issued by the Chairman NAB said that the investigation teams should look into all aspects of corruption in the Rawalpindi Ring Road project and all those responsible for corruption should be brought to justice.

 

According to sources, Chairman NAB has ordered an inquiry into irregularities and illegal land acquisition in the Rawalpindi Ring Road project.

 

On the other hand, it should be kept in mind that as soon as the inquiry into the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal is completed, a large number of transfers have been made in the bureaucracy.

 

Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (retd) Anwar-ul-Haq has been removed from his post and DC Chakwal has been given additional charge of Rawalpindi.

 

According to the notification, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Capt (retd) Shoaib has also been removed from the post.

 

Deputy Commissioner Attak Ali Annan Qamar has also been removed from his post and ADCG Capt (retd) Qasim Ijaz has been given additional charge of ADCR Rawalpindi.

 

According to sources, all these exchanges have been made in the context of the investigation into the Rawalpindi Ring Road scandal. Commissioner Rawalpindi has already been removed for  the same reason.
