ISLAMABAD : The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has decided to open educational institutions in districts with less than 5% corona positive. All schools in these districts will open on May 24.
According to details, this important meeting of the NCOC was chaired by Federal Minister Asad Umar and was attended by the Special Assistant for Health, Sindh Health Minister and Chief Secretaries of the four provinces.
The meeting also decided to allow outdoor wedding ceremonies with 150 people and to open a tourism department, however, strict implementation of SOPs will be ensured.
The NCOC also decided to allow the opening of outdoor restaurants from May 24. Restaurants will be open until midnight and takeaways will be open 24 hours a day.
It was decided at the meeting that shrines, cinema halls, indoor dining, indoor gym and amusement parks would remain closed. However, walking and jogging tracks will remain open with SOPs.
Indoor and outdoor cultural, musical, religious and other gatherings will also be banned, while inter-provincial public transport will be closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The transport will be closed two days a week from May 22.
Today, another 104 people have died from the corona virus. In the last 24 hours, 3,256 new cases were reported. 329,913 in Punjab, 31,247 in Sindh, 127,609 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 24,064 in Balochistan, 5,439 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 79,552 in Islamabad and 18,000 in Azad Kashmir. 360 cases were reported.
