Diplomatic mission suspended from Afghanistan and transferred to Qatar: US
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said that the US diplomatic mission in Afghanistan has been suspended and relocated to Qatar, adding that the Taliban would have to take steps to gain recognition and co-operation.
“Cooperation with the new Afghan government will be in the light of US interests, and humanitarian assistance will continue,” Blinken said in a statement.
“We will deliver aid to the Afghan people from international organizations instead of the Taliban. We appreciate the efforts of Qatar and Turkey. Talks with the region and other countries will continue,” he said.
The US Secretary of State said that Afghanistan will not be left alone, more than 123,000 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan safely, there are about 100 to 200 Americans left in Afghanistan and the exact number is being determined.
Anthony Blinken added that they were trying to determine whether the Americans wanted to leave Afghanistan.
He said the Taliban had assured that those with travel documents would be allowed to leave the country.
It should be noted that 20 years after the US occupation of Afghanistan ended, the US confirmed the completion of the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, the commander of the US Central Command General Mackenzie has also confirmed the completion of the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan.
On this occasion, the Taliban have taken full control of Kabul Airport. In the joy of control over the whole of Afghanistan, the Taliban also fired in the air.
