Dispute over water sharing between provinces, meeting chaired by PM postponed today

ISLAMABAD : Today’s meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan was adjourned over the dispute over water distribution between the provinces.
Sindh’s reservations remain on the issue of water distribution. The important meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan was fruitless. Sindh Minister for Irrigation Sohail Anwar Sial had raised the concerns of the Sindh government with the Prime Minister.
Talking to media after the meeting, Sohail Anwar Sial was once again seen complaining. Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah had held a press conference and leveled allegations against Irsa.
The issue of water crisis was also discussed in the upper house and lower house. In the National Assembly, PPP leader Naveed Qamar had raised the issue of water scarcity in Sindh on which Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri had summoned the Federal Minister for Water Resources for a briefing.
