The International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) is the world’s leading yearly gathering for professionals involved in the development, management, and distribution of entertainment and news content. IBC’s partners include organizations worldwide organizations that represent both exhibitors and visitors.

Since its inception in 1967, IBC has evolved to become the world’s most prominent annual event for professionals involved in the development, administration, and distribution of electronic media.

Originally known as the International Broadcasting Convention, the International Broadcasting Convention has evolved from its technical broadcast roots to encompass the entire spectrum of media creation management and delivery, from online content to digital cinema, from automated workflows to high-resolution capture and display.

IBC continues to be the industry’s primary event, and it is growing in popularity. Each September in Amsterdam, it currently draws over 55,000 attendees from over 170 countries.

The peer-reviewed technology conference continues to be the venue for the most important new ideas. The Technical Papers are an essential component of the IBC Conference, which sit alongside a diverse schedule of panels, talks, and keynotes that have drawn not just broadcast executives but luminaries.

The conference is accompanied by a comprehensive expo that brings together about 1,600 exhibitors, each displaying cutting-edge technology. IBC is unrivaled as a meeting and knowledge-sharing venue, and its networking possibilities and value-added activities – from awards to movie screenings – add significantly to the value of attending.

To meet the demands of this new and vastly expanded market, IBC continues to develop innovative ways to engage with its audiences, such as the introduction of the Rising Stars program, which assists the next generation of content and media technology professionals in finding their feet in the industry, and the exclusive invitation-only Leaders’ Summit, which brings together 150 leaders from the electronic media and entertainment industries to shape future strategy. IBC has also launched a new series of events called IBC Content Everywhere, which expands the scope of the organization’s expertise.

This new global event, which looks to the linked future, incorporates all of the expertise and understanding of IBC, which is organized by the industry for the industry. The IBC Content Everywhere exhibit exemplifies the ever-changing nature of the world of networked electronic media. IBC Content Everywhere, like IBC, provides a venue for debate and discovery of business, technological, and creative prospects, but it represents the very different nature of media connection in an IP world, giving it a unique and carefully crafted appearance and feel.
