LAHORE : Independence Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm all over the country.

After the Fajr prayers, special prayers were offered for the development and prosperity of the beloved homeland.

The day began with the salute of 31 cannons in the federal capital and 21 cannons in the provincial capitals. A guard change ceremony was held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi and Mazar-e-Iqbal in Lahore.

A well-armed contingent of Pakistan Navy took over the duties at Mazar-e-Quaid. At Mazar-e-Iqbal, instead of Pakistan Rangers, a well-armed contingent of Pakistan Army took over the duties of guard.
