A U.S. military official says 5,100 U.S. citizens have been evacuated from Kabul, and more than 5,000 are still awaiting evacuation.
Meanwhile, a Pentagon spokesman said that the US military’s goal is to maintain all possible capabilities in Kabul, there is a clear threat of an attack on Kabul airport.
