On Thursday, July 17, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský will receive part of the estate of Czechoslovak Foreign Minister Jan Masaryk at the Černín Palace. It was donated to the ministry by Alena Soukup, the daughter of Masaryk’s secretary.
The estate contains a collection of valuable works of art originating from the estate of Jan Masaryk’s London apartment and is a legacy of Dr. Lumír Soukup, former secretary of Jan Masaryk. This selection represents the final part of the estate, which was kept in exile for decades. The objects bear not only artistic value, but above all a personal connection to the personality of Jan Masaryk and his work in London.
