Mushaal Hussein Mallick, the Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organisation, welcomed the Pakistan-sponsored resolution unanimously adopted by The United Nations General Assembly that reaffirms the right to self-determination for peoples subjected to colonial, foreign and alien occupation.

Mushaal, who is also the wife of detained Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik, in her reaction on Friday, stated that it was historic development that UN body approved the resolution clearly stating that self-determination is a fundamental right of all peoples — including those under colonial, foreign and alien domination.

However, she demanded that the UN body passed several resolutions in the past, which theoretically great significance but practical nothing could be done in this regard.

Mushaal said that the world powers should not reduce the UN bodies only for passing resolutions but it should also be empowered to enforce its resolutions in their true sprits.

The Chairperson urged the international community to force the Indian brutal forces to vacate the occupied land of Kashmir which has been reeling under the fascist regime for the last seven decades.

She went on to say that the failure to implement the resolutions passed by the UN bodies dented the reputation and integrity of the world institutions.

Mushaal noted that the unabated Indian state terrorism over the last 70 years has taken a heavy toll on the lives of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

She said that a recently released report pertaining to the Indian barbarism revealed that over 400,000 Kashmiris have been martyred and more than 3.5 million others have been rendered migrants due to the India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947.

Mushaal said that the Indian fascist government turned Kashmir into a torture cells where youths are being tortured to death. She demanded that the world powers should take notice of the rising inhuman acts being committed by the barbarism forces and take steps to ensure the Kashmir problems as per the UN resolutions.

However, she vowed that the ongoing Kashmir liberation movement has entered a decisive phase and the brave people are struggling with the spirit and determination of “now or never” to achieve freedom from Indian clutches.
