Overseas Pakistanis do not trust on Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD : Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has said that Overseas Pakistanis do not trust former Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari, so both parties want to keep Pakistanis abroad out of the elections. It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to transfer the next elections to electronic voting.
Talking to media after the meeting of the federal cabinet, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said that the cabinet has approved the appointment of Aslam Khan as the new chairman of PIA. Asim Rauf’s tenure as chairman has been extended by three months. The cabinet also approved the import of 1 million tonnes of wheat.
Continuing his speech, he said that PML-N and PPP want to keep overseas Pakistanis out of the electoral system at all costs. Overseas Pakistanis have an important role to play in improving our economy. Nawaz Sharif and Zardari do not trust overseas Pakistanis.
Continuing his speech, he said that the arrival of Rs.1000 billion in the country by overseas Pakistanis is a sign of confidence in Prime Minister Imran Khan. Remittances came in large numbers to Pakistan. All Pakistanis who have an ID card do not need to register to vote. The PTI has always supported the right of overseas Pakistanis to vote. Luxembourg citizens are allowed to grant Pakistani citizenship.
The Federal Minister for Information said that the All Parties Conference (APC) convened by the opposition is a conspiracy to weaken the parliament. If there is to be talk of reforms, the parties in the parliament should talk. Understandably, these people do not want this system to work.
He said that they are bringing a bill for effective legislation against occupation of government lands, approved Public Property Encroachment Bill 2021, Supreme Court constituted a committee for Staff Housing Colony.
Continuing his speech, Fawad Chaudhry said that the Election Commission cannot question the Parliament whether the law is constitutional or not, whether the law is unconstitutional or not is up to the Supreme Court to decide. He should also pass a law and implement it. If anyone wants to do politics, form their own party instead of an institution like the Election Commission
Talking about Corona, he said that 400,000 people are being vaccinated on a daily basis and we are trying to vaccinate 70 million people this year. Vaccination has increased since 18-year-olds were vaccinated.
