Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has started regular service to Najaf, Iraq.
PIA’s first scheduled flight PK219, 91 passengers, including Iraqi Ambassador Hamid Abbas Lufta and CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik arrived in Najaf.
In a simple ceremony at Karachi Airport, CCO PIA, Federal Ambassador, eminent scholars and passengers cut the cake together
During the flight, the visitors lamented with full enthusiasm.
The PIA flight was received at Najaf Airport by the Minister of Transport, the Pakistani Ambassador, the Head of Iraqi Civil Aviation and religious leaders.
On this occasion, the CEO of PIA said that he has brought a message of love and security from Pakistan. Talking to media persons, CEO Air Marshal Arshad Malik said that Iraq is an important destination for Pakistani Muslims and is sacred to the followers of all jurists.
Confirming this, the Iraqi Minister of Transport said that PIA and Pakistani would spare no effort in serving the visitors. Efforts are being made to simplify the visa system so that more people can benefit from the visit.
Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iraq Ahmed Amjad Ali said that the scheduled flights of PIA would further strengthen the ties between the two countries. Now, after Najaf, the PIA will try to start the route to Baghdad as soon as possible.
After the reception, the delegation visited the mosque of Kufa and the shrine of Hazrat Ali. The delegation returned home by the same flight.
