Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan: Army Chief

RAWALPINDI : Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa says Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan.

Afghan journalists met with Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. According to ISPR, the Army Chief while talking to the delegation said that media can play the role of a bridge in Pak-Afghan culture, social and public relations. It is the responsibility of the people and the media to identify and defeat the enemies of peace. Peaceful Afghanistan is Pakistan’s first wish. Peace between Pakistan and Afghanistan is intertwined. We will not allow the enemies of peace to sabotage the Afghan peace process.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that border security was in the best interest of both the countries. Peace in Afghanistan is key to the region’s long-term development. It is hoped that more visits will be exchanged between the two countries in the future.

According to ISPR, Afghan journalists thanked the army chief for giving them the opportunity to discuss. He said that he was grateful to the Afghan people for Pakistan’s sincerity and efforts. Pakistan’s role in hosting Afghan refugees and the peace process is invaluable.
