Planning Minister visits different sections of NADRA

Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal visited NADRA Headquarters, Islamabad on Wednesday.

Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik briefed the minister about recently started citizen centric digital interventions to facilitate the people.

He said 771 Registration Centers were set up and 222 Mobile Registration Vans were deployed across the country to provide registration services at the door steps of citizens.

The Chairman NADRA briefed the Minister that NADRA has enhanced cards printing capacity from 60 thousand to 125 thousands per day.

He said NADRA will start a project on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in joint collaboration with the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives.

The Minister visited NADRA high-tech Operations Room where he was briefed about the Centralized Operations Management System.

He lauded the efforts of the NADRA team for introducing international standards and gave appreciation certificates among the software engineers who developed Digital Census Turnkey Solution for the country’s first ever digital census.

The Pilot phase of the digital census was successfully carried out from July 21 to August 3.

The Minister said technology at NADRA should be utilized to record Registration of Birth and Death at health facilities across the country.
