PESHAWAR : Elderly female politician Begum Naseem Wali Khan has passed away.
Begum Naseem Wali Khan was suffering from diabetes and heart disease. She was elected to the National Assembly once and to the Provincial Assembly three times and was the first woman politician to be elected to Parliament.
She was the wife of late Awami National Party leader Tehreek-e-Khan Abdul Wali Khan and the stepmother of current ANP central president Asfandyar Wali Khan. Funeral prayers of Begum Naseem Wali Khan will be offered at Charsadda.
Expressing grief over the demise of Begum Naseem Wali, former President Asif Ali Zardari said that she fought hard for democracy in the MRD movement. Bilawal Bhutto said that may Allah Almighty grant her high ranks in His mercy. ۔
In their message on the demise of the senior female leader, the Chaudhry brothers said that Begum Naseem Wali’s services to democracy could not be forgotten. Hamza Shahbaz said that his positive role in the politics of the country will always be remembered.
