Senior journalist Rahimullah Yousafzai has passed away
Rahimullah Yousafzai, a senior journalist and expert on Afghan affairs, has died at the age of 68.
According to family sources, Rahimullah Yousafzai’s funeral prayers will be offered at 11 a.m. today at Zameer Banda near Katling Interchange, Mardan District.
He interviewed Osama bin Laden, which made him very popular. Rahimullah Yousafzai was one of the few journalists to report on Taliban activities and went to Kandahar in 1995.
Rahimullah Yousafzai was working as a columnist for the daily Jang. He has also worked for Time Magazine. He was also a correspondent for BBC Urdu and BBC Pashto. He was considered an expert on Afghanistan and North West Pakistan. In recognition of his journalistic services, the Government of Pakistan awarded him the Medal of Distinction in 2004 and the Star of Distinction in 2009.
