The new Afghan Taliban interim government will take office today

The new interim government announced by the Afghan Taliban will take over from today.

Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund will be the new caretaker Prime Minister while Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar and Mullah Abdul Salam Hanafi have been appointed Deputy Prime Ministers.

Mullah Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid has been appointed Minister of Defense, Sirajuddin Haqqani Minister of Interior and Mullah Amir Khan Muttaqi Foreign Minister.

Mullah Khair Khairkhwa will be the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture and Zabih Mujahid will be his Deputy, while Mullah Abdul Haq Wasiq will be the Head of Intelligence Affairs and Qari Fasihuddin will be the Head of Security Affairs.
