The WHO has added the Chinese vaccine to its emergency list

GENEVA :The World Health Organization (WHO) has added the COVID-19 vaccine, developed by Sinoform, a Chinese state-owned pharmaceutical company, to its list of approved vaccines for emergency use.
The agency’s director general, Tedros Edhanm Gibres, said the list approved for emergency use already includes vaccines developed by Pfizer and other Western pharmaceutical companies.
The synoform vaccine is the first non-Western vaccine to be added to the list. The inclusion in the World Health Organization’s list will allow the vaccine to be included in the Vaccine Scheme, a global program for more equitable distribution of vaccines led by the World Health Organization.

The agency has called on Cinnoform to join the program. Kovacs currently relies on the AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine manufactured in India. Seventy percent of the vaccine the agency wants to distribute by June will consist of that vaccine. However, due to the rapid spread of corona virus infection in India, its supply has been significantly delayed.
