Traffic on Torkham border remains closed

Due to Corona sanctions, the Pak-Afghan border at Torkham is still closed. Under the ban, Pakistani citizens cannot enter Afghanistan and Afghan citizens cannot enter Pakistan. Only Pakistanis stranded in Afghanistan are being allowed to enter the country from Torkham border.

Deputy Commissioner Khyber Mansoor Arshad told Geo News that despite having Pakistani citizen visas under the ban, Afghanistan and Afghan citizens cannot come to Pakistan across the border.

Sick people coming from Afghanistan are being provided humanitarian assistance while Afghan citizens are being allowed to return from Torkham border.

In addition, trade activities between the two countries have resumed and more than 700 vehicles are plying daily.
