US evacuation from Kabul, security of 3 gates of the airport handed over to Taliban
The US withdrawal from Afghanistan entered its final stages after which the security of 3 gates and different parts of Kabul airport was handed over to the Taliban.
According to Afghan media, the US military has evacuated 3 gates and various places of Kabul airport after which their security has been handed over to the Taliban.
The Taliban also confirmed security at the airport, saying US troops had withdrawn from three gates and other parts of the airport, after which the Taliban took control of those empty areas.
On the other hand, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby and Major General William Taylor held a press conference in which they said that two ISIS fighters from Khorasan have been killed in a drone strike in Afghanistan.
The spokesman said that 6800 people had been evacuated from Kabul airport in the last few days and so far 117,000 people have been evacuated, including 5,400 Americans.
Major General William Taylor said that the withdrawal from Afghanistan has entered the final stages and now US troops have also started leaving Kabul Airport.
