With Universal Health Coverage, Pakistan is doing what nowhere else in the world, Prime Minister

ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that with Universal Health Coverage, Pakistan is doing what no other place in the world can do.

 

Addressing a function to distribute Insaf Health Card in Layyah, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the state was helping the weaker sections, so God bless. Half of our money goes into paying interest on loans. We are going through torment, so what will happen to the poor? Despite this, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab decided to provide health insurance. I pay tribute to Dr. Yasmeen and Chief Minister Usman Bazdar. I wanted every citizen of Punjab to have health insurance. Each family will have health insurance of Rs. 720,000. If someone runs out of money, another Rs 3 lakh will be given.

 

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar announced the establishment of University of Layyah. Addressing the function, the PTI government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan today launched Universal Health Insurance from Layyah. The program has been formally launched in Dera Ghazi Khan Division and Sahiwal Division today. In the first phase, 4.8 million families and more than 11.5 million people of Dera Ghazi Khan and Sahiwal divisions will be able to avail free medical treatment under the Universal Health Care Program. Citizens of both the divisions can avail better treatment facilities by visiting their respective hospitals with their national identity cards. Under this program, every family will be able to get free treatment up to Rs. 7 lakh per annum. Inshallah, according to the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, soon every citizen of Punjab province will get this facility. Universal Healthcare Program Punjab is a project that is not found in most of the developed countries in South Asia.

 

Usman Bazdar said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has laid the foundation stone of Mother and Child Hospital in Layyah at a cost of Rs5.73 billion. Under the New Punjab Basic Health Unit Solarization Program, 36 basic health centers in Layyah are being converted to solar energy. Keeping in view the need of the people, the foundation stone of Layyah Chowk Azam Two-lane Road has been laid at a cost of Rs. 67 crore. Under the vision of equitable development, we also want to bring Layyah on par with big cities. A district package of Rs. 13.80 billion has been specially prepared for Layyah.
