Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry appointed new Pakistani High Commissioner to Australia

Senior Foreign Service officer and diplomat Asim Iftikhar Ahmed has been appointed as the new Foreign Ministry spokesman, his predecessor Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry has been appointed as the new Pakistani High Commissioner to Australia.

Asim Iftikhar Ahmad was serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Asim Iftikhar, who has more than two decades of experience, has held various key positions in the Foreign Ministry, as well as diplomacy abroad.

Asim Iftikhar has served as Consul in the Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, and in charge of the Pakistani Embassy in Niger. He has also served as Pakistan’s ambassador to Indonesia.
