Legislation on Clubbhushan Yadav, Pakistan rejects Indian government’s statement

ISLAMABAD : Pakistan has denied the Indian government’s statement regarding legislation passed by the National Assembly on Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav. Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said that Pakistan was fulfilling all its international obligations to implement the decision of the International Court of Justice in the Kulbhushan Yadav case and India had misrepresented the decision of the International Court of Justice.

 

According to the official news agency APP, Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry expressed regret over the statement of the Indian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson regarding the International Court of Justice (Review and Reconsideration) Bill passed by the National Assembly. According to paragraph 146 of the judgment of the Court of Justice, Pakistan is bound to grant the right of appeal to Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav through the High Courts of Pakistan under the International Court of Justice (Review and Reconsideration) Ordinance 2020

 

He said that paragraph 147 of the decision made it clear that Pakistan was bound to review the sentence of Kulbhushan Yadav by its own choice. The passage of the International Court of Justice (Review and Reconsideration) Bill by the National Assembly once again reflects Pakistan’s commitment to uphold the International Court of Justice’s decision.

 

The Foreign Office spokesperson said that the decision of the International Court of Justice (paragraph 118) also called on India to act in good faith and arrange legal representation for Commander Yadav but unfortunately India Deliberately campaigning to block the appointment of a lawyer.
