The Wall Street Journal has revealed that the US State Department had informed the Biden administration of the Taliban’s threat to seize Kabul.

According to the magazine, about a dozen diplomats wrote a memo to Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken on July 13, a month before the Taliban took control of Kabul.

The foreign minister was told in a text message that the Taliban were rapidly gaining control of Afghan territory, and the memo suggested that the US State Department should take a strong stand against the Taliban.
