The death toll from storms and rains in the United States has risen to 45

Rainstorms and hurricanes have killed at least 45 people in various parts of the United States.


The storm also wreaked havoc in New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and Connecticut, according to the news agency.


Hundreds of thousands of people have lost power in the five states while hundreds of flights have been canceled.


In New York, subway stations and airports were turned into canals, roads became rivers, New York subway stations were closed, and a state of emergency was declared in the city.
