The Taliban reactivated the currency exchange market

The Taliban say the exchange and currency exchange market in Kabul has been reactivated.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on his Twitter account that the bazaar, known as the Prince’s Inn, had reopened.

The Taliban had said they would not allow the dollar to go abroad as it would weaken the economy. Prince Mahal is Afghanistan’s largest currency exchange center.

Earlier, the US government allowed remittances to be sent to Afghanistan, and soon after, a major international money transfer company, Western Union, announced the resumption of operations in Afghanistan.
