PNCA, Art Divvy presents screen short films

Foundation Art Divvy Presented the fifth evening of“Divvy Film Festival” in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of theArts (PNCA). On the fifth week, May I Have This Seat by Tabish Habib, Bench by Usman Mukhtar, Elizabeth by Jamal Rahman, Settled by Marya Javed and Lala Begumby Mehreen Jabba was screened. The first film screened was “May I Have ThisSeat” directed by Tabish Habib. The movie revolves around A young rebellious pregnant woman is travelling by bus to see her doctor when she gets into an altercation with a conservative father on the smoggy roads of Lahore, Pakistan. Next was “Bench” directed by Usman Mukhtar. The film is based upon a young couple who are at a crossroad of their relationship where leaving each other is just as difficult as staying together. They meet again at their favourite spot to resolve their conflict, once and for all. Next was “Elizabeth” directed by Jamal Rahman. The film is based upon A girl with an unusual phobia of revolving doors must overcome her fear to get what she so desperately wants. Next was “Settled” directed by Marya Javed. A film about a problem that has no name. Last movie “Lala Begum” directed by Mehreen Jabbar in which two estranged sisters meet at their family home after 20 years and end up unearthing many skeletons in their closet. The Festival focuses on independent Pakistani films and includes feature films,short films, documentaries and animated films.
