The IMF withheld funds from Afghanistan

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced that it will suspend funding to Afghanistan due to uncertainty.

 

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that the international community’s position on recognizing the Afghan government is unclear, adding that Afghanistan cannot access IMF resources due to uncertainty.

 

On the other hand, the United States also froze افغان 9.5 billion in assets of the Afghan Central Bank.

 

The United States has said it will not allow the Afghan government’s central bank assets to reach the Taliban.
